Laserworld NEWS
An essay by Norbert Stangl, CMO of the Laserworld Group
The transformation process of the show laser industry has been ongoing since laser technology was first developed in 1960. However, this technology has evolved over the decades from rather fragile, specialist technology to durable, compact, and affordable devices.
Several significant milestones in the history of laser technology also shaped the industry behind it and led to significant changes in the market.
Around the year 2000, there was the transformation from gas laser systems to affordable solid-state technology, significantly boosted by DPSS laser technology (usually the typical green laser), followed by a price drop for blue semiconductor laser diodes (the Casio video projector story - we will tell that another day). Then, in 2013, came the gradual shift to the newly developed technology for green semiconductor laser diodes.
All these changes were driven almost entirely by technical engineering, enabled by companies and individual dedicated people significantly focused on technology.
If we look at the recent developments in the show laser industry since COVID, the changes we see are different from those in the past: the global economy, international markets, and the general economy are shaping the industry and its developments. This has again significantly restructured the market.
Laserworld at the beginning, and now the Laserworld Group, became a key player in the market - and the home to many laser and laser show experts from the industry.
Having all those big names under our roof - Laserworld, LaserAnimation Sollinger, RTI, tarm, LPS Laser (LPS-Lasersysteme), HB-Laser, and more - the Laserworld Group was able to bring together the brilliant minds of the industry and their heritage. This has proven to be necessary in an industry that has transformed so heavily and has been significantly impacted by many different influences. Knowledge, experience, efficiency, and most importantly synergetic effects make us, as the Laserworld Group, a strong family.
As the Laserworld Group grew bigger over the years, it became essential to shape a product portfolio that spans the different brands, with product ranges that complement each other without having competing products within the group. This challenge results from the question: Which product for which customer?
This is the presentation "Different laser systems – different customers" given at the Open House Event of the Laserworld Group on Innovation Day, 10.10.2025, in Berlin:
Besides the challenges of the actual laser systems, a much more significant question becomes increasingly important as laser setups grow larger - and there is a trend towards a multitude of lasers being used at shows.
How can lasers be controlled reliably, and more importantly: how can reliable control be scaled to very large laser setups?
The Laserworld Group has two main technological approaches for this: one on the top-end side with LaserAnimation Sollinger and AVB/TSN signal transmission, and another with the versatile ShowNET laser mainboard on the Laserworld side.
One aspect of the ShowNET mainboard was specifically highlighted at the Berlin Open House event as well: the professional DMX and Art-Net control of lasers, specifically for large numbers of units. This live stream recording is from the Education Day, 09.10.2025, in Berlin:
Laserworld’s own laser software control system, the Showcontroller Software Suite, plays an increasingly important role in the industry and is experiencing strong demand and growth. Showcontroller software trainings in English and German were held in parallel on Education Day, 09.10.2025, in Berlin and showcased the latest developments and technical advancements of the professional software suite:
As the Laserworld Group not only caters to top professional, high-end laser users, but also offers a versatile portfolio of more basic products, the introduction to the show laser industry is also in focus. Total newcomers to the show laser industry can get started quickly and easily with basic laser systems nowadays, as technology has advanced so much. With knowledge of just a few fundamentals, it is possible to create astonishing laser shows - live controlled or based on a timeline. “My first laser show” was the title of a presentation that specifically addressed the ease of getting started:
The biggest developments in the industry, however, were the recent innovations aimed at bringing laser technology to the lighting world. The idea behind this was to make laser technology more easily available while maintaining ease of use and avoiding classification as dangerous laser devices. Different technologies have been tested along that route, and not all of them have proven to be successful.
The Laserworld Group has significantly invested in research and development over the past years to bring innovation to the lighting industry. And this was successfully achieved - with the launch of the tarm VANQUISH, a totally new, first-of-its-kind moving head with a laser source as a substitute for a conventional light source.
And even more than that: it became the strongest turbo hybrid lighting fixture on the market, with 2.2 million lux at 20 m. The tarm VANQUISH was the highlight product launched on 10.11.2025 in Berlin during the keynote speech, and it has impacted the market since:
More is to be expected from tarm - professional luminaires very soon, as investment in development has not stopped, but has continued to grow significantly.
These recent presentations about different aspects of the laser show industry demonstrate the huge potential that still exists in the market. Even though the industry has consolidated over the past years, it appears that this development has fueled the evolution of the market - and especially of the Laserworld Group as a key player.
Integrated Systems Europe 2026 (ISE) was the biggest exhibition for the Laserworld Group so far: The biggest booth, the biggest team, and the biggest set of brands and companies together – and the biggest number of supporting companies that helped us create an astonishing experience to every visitor.
It was the first year of the Laserworld Group to actually exhibit as a unity of brands under one roof with Laserworld, LaserAnimation Sollinger, tarm – professional luminaires, and, very new, LPS-Laser – just to mention the big brands and companies under the roof. Besides those, Showcontroller, Cube Laser Control, ShowNET and Showeditor were on display, too.
Having so many brands and products together in the company group opens new opportunities for exhibition booth design and show display: Combined shows of lasers of the different brands and lots of professional lighting of the tarm brand (all with laser sources, of course!) provided a very good insight to the different products and their feature set.
Our partners at ISE 2026
Special thanks go out to our partners, because without them it would have been impossible to implement such a show.
First and foremost, we want to thank our good, long-term partner Laser System Europe (LSE) (www.lse.eu) for the professional stand design, construction and show programming. It was a pleasure to collaborate with you on this project! Bringing show production experts in for this kind of more sophisticated stand build was a good decision!
Second, we want to thank AED Audio of the AED Group that provided the Sound system for our booth. Excellent quality speakers and professionally implemented setup by AED sound engineers made our shows and our party sound top professional. We also got monitor speakers for our party, so the DJs could do their thing properly (yes, the party really took off very well 😊 ). Thank you, AED Audio, for your professional support!
There was also specific support for the legendary Laserworld Party, that took place on the Thursday of the exhibition: We again added some little special FX to the party (beside the lasers) and Oh!fx supported us with this again, providing a Fog jet and some confetti cannons (we needed to hold back a little with the confetti this year, as overdid a bit with them last time 😉 ).
One of our distribution partners, LTT Group, helped us with a proper DJ player system (so the DJs got the gear they needed for the party) – thank you so much for this! Furthermore, LTT was a great partner during the stand build-up.
Steinigke, another good distribution partner of Laserworld, was ready to provide further equipment for the party, even though we didn’t have space to put the DJ table – many thanks for bringing it along and your general support before and during the exhibition!
Unexpected support was received from Smoke Factory, which had their booth next to ours. They presented their new Tour Hazer Nano at Ise for the first time and gave us the second prototype they had for the use at our stand. Thanks for that and for being such good neighbors 😊
We don't want to forget the background support of Paul from Marten Cables, which helped by providing certain party attire - When I say "Laser", you say "World" 😊 !
The exhibition stand at the 2026 ISE was shared between all the brands in the Laserworld Group, which allowed us to present the product portfolio in a way that showed how the different products, also across the brands, complement each other to a product portfolio that spans from super basic to highest end laser systems. This makes the Laserworld Group unique in the world, having such a wide and rich product portfolio.
Impressive and Impactful
Overall 94 laser fixtures were deployed at the ISE 2026 exhibition stand and in the show. The setup combined 66 laser moving heads (tarm – professional luminaires) with 28 laser systems, creating a hybrid demonstration environment showcasing both laser-based moving lighting technology and traditional laser systems from our brands Laserworld, RTI, LPS-Laser, LaserAnimation Sollinger, and tarm – professional luminaires.
New Products
The main purpose of an exhibition is to present and demonstrate new products, developments and technologies. And the Laserworld Group had a LOT to show - there were new products across all brands, which made a visit to our stand really exciting:

Professional laser show control was demonstrated at the Showcontroller software demo desk, where visitors could try the latest Showcontroller software version, even in the brand new ULTRA edition, and with the latest LIVE laser show control and timeline programming features.
Party time!
The climax of the ISE exhibition was the legendary Laserworld Party, which again took place on the third evening of the exhibition. Traditionally we had an open bar with free drinks, great music, and dancers. DJ PHOENIX and DJ Curly played great tunes and kept the crowd going. At peak times we estimate that about 800 people attended the party – which must have been the biggest crowd at any of our party since – and we started quite a while ago at Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt (R.I.P.) with this. If you missed the party this year, stay tuned for 2027 – it looks like there will be an even bigger party again 😊
An finally, our signature audio track of the exhibition😊 :
Laserworld (If you ain’t got no lasers)
Integrated Systems Europe 2026 was a big success for the Laserworld Group, and many of our customers from all around the world came to see us. We are looking forward to the next show in 2027 – the stand space is already booked, and we will be there – even bigger than 2026. We look forward to seeing you there!

The RTI ANGO 600, world's most powerful RGB white light laser show system with moveable beam and more than 600W pure laser power, gets an important feature upgrade to improve transportability and flexibility of use. The 2023 version of the ANGO comes as split version, meaning that the AC unit can be split from the actual laser device, being just connected by the two hoses for the cooling liquid and the control connection. This also applies to its little brother, the RTI ANGO 300.
The RTI ANGO 600 is an extremely powerful laser system with a special beam deflection that allows for pan and tilt movement of the 600 W laser beam with a special mirror. The beam has a diameter of only 10 cm, so is extremely focused for the power. Due to the impressively low divergence of about 1 mrad it is designed to maintain the laser power over long distance.
With ultra high power laser systems the major challenge usually is to achieve a good white balance and especially have a sufficient portion of red. The RTI ANGO 600 has 200W of bright red, 170 W of green and 280W of royal blue, so it mixes white very well plus has significant visibility due to the enormous amount of green.
The RTI ANGO laser systems can easily be controlled with DMX or ArtNet.
