What is a Water Screen?

Laser graphics projections need a surface to make visible the graphics, texts and effects the laser draws. Also water may function as projection surface. These water screens are built by waterdrops falling down from a nozzle element equipped with numerous nozzles in several rows, that is mounted to the ceiling, truss or the like. The water ist pumped to the element from a water source. Because of the falling water drops water screens are also called "water curtains". Water screens are suitable for different kinds of applications, from laser to multimedia shows and are mainly used indoor. Laser combined with water creates amazing three-dimensional effects.

Further information on Laser Screens

What means Watt?

Watt is a physical unit to measure power.

What has Watt to do with laser displays?

The power of show laser lights is measured in Watts, too. The more Watt a laser projector provides, the brighter the laser beams (in general - but it depends also on other things like divergence and the beam diameter).
Laserworld specifies the laser power in total power and guaranteed power after optics.

What is the difference between total power and guaranteed power of a laser light?

Guaranteed power after optics is the minimum power the show laser provides. The total power after optics is the typical average power value as the laser power depends e.g. on the temperature, diode life span, etc.

What is Wavelength?

The physical term Wavelength determines the color of a laser source and is specified in the unit nm (nanometer). As you can see in the chart below, some colors are more visible than others.

What is Zone Based Beam Attenuation?

As show laser systems can be harmful for human skin / eyes if they are not properly operated, laser show software offers the possibility to create so-called safety zones with the zone-based beam attenuation.
The operator defines several areas in which the power of the laser beams are attenuated. By reducing the brightness / intensity of the laser beams, a laser show can be projected into the audience (= Audience Scanning).
