ShowNET can easily be used with ArtNET for convenient laser control via conventional lighting desks or lighting software. Custom ILDA files can be stored to the ShowNET’s internal SD card and can then be triggered via ArtNET. Even though the ShowNET already comes with a preset of Frames and animations, it is possible to completely customize all these contents. This is comparable to using “Gobos”, like in conventional lighting, but these “Gobos” in lasers can not only be static, but be animated, colorful and easily customizable. ShowNET comes with a free software that allows for creation of custom content, which then can be loaded to the ShowNET’s SD card.

IMPORTANT: ArtNet operation requires the ShowNET interface to be connected in a DHCP environment (router with integrated switch is recommended). The address handling must be managed through DHCP.
Only ShowNET interfaces and the ArtNet controller must be used in the same network. Avoid using other network devices in the same network.

How to calculate DMX values for DIP switches

This calculation tool shall help you in finding the right dip-switch settings for a certain DMX address. The dip switches are set according to binary calculation meaning that every dip switch can feedback only the values 0 and 1. The calculation is comparably simple: Every dip switch has the value 2n where n is the number of the dip switch. First dip switch is 0 (computers start counting from 0, not from 1), so when it's switched on it says 20 = 1. Dip switch 2 has the value 1 if switched on, so it is 21 =2. Third dip switch has 22 = 4, fourth 23 = 8.
To Set a value you first have to find the highest number that fits the value, then you add up smaller values.

Example:
DMX512 value 11 shall be set:
1. Highest number that fits is 23 = 8
2. Second highest number is 21 = 2
3. third highest number that fits is 20 =1
So setting would be: 11010000

1. Open the Admin Tool and navigate to the tab "Settings".

2. Change the "Data source for internal DMX effects" to "ArtNet input" as seen in the picture below:

3. Click on "Store Data" to save the changes.

4. Confirm the two upoming info-dialogs with click on "OK". Then restart the laser mainboard by switching the power off and back on again.

How to change the DMX mode

DJ mode is the standard option. To use the Professional mode:
  • Open the admin tool and navigate to the tab "Settings".
  • Change the option under "DMX Operating Mode", as seen in the picture below

  • Click on "Store Data" to save your changes.
  • Click on "OK" twice and wait until another window opens that asks to restart the ILDA interface. To do so, switch the laser system off and on again.

Buy Show Laser Light Systems

Rent Laser Systems

It does not always make sense to buy, but to rent laser show systems. Laserworld holds a large stock of laser systems for rent.. The rental laser systems are available for worldwide shipping and can also be rented together with professional laser operators. We only rent out high professional laser show equipment, mainly built by RTI. So products of the PIKO, NANO and NEO Series are available. And of course we offer Showcontroller, Pangolin and Lasergraph DSP laser show control systems for rent as well.
Laserworld holds larger stock of RGB white light laser systems with 10W and more. The online rental price list helps in selecting the right laser for rental and helps to calculate the rental price. It is also possible to select laser accessories for rent, such as haze machines, smoke machines or MIDI controllers.
