Pure Micro Series FAQ

Why is there no key switch at the Pure Micro units?

The requirement for the possibility of preventing unauthorized operation of the laser system is defined in the international laser safety regulation IEC 60825-1. It says that measures must be taken to safely lock the laser system, so a use by third party is not possible.
As the Pure Micro units don't have any own built-in intelligence, but work over ILDA control, they cannot be operated without a software or another signal emitting device.
To safely lock the Pure Micro lasers it is simply necessary to either remove the ILDA interface, lock the computer, remove the software license key, etc.
This is the key lock of the Pure Micro units.

This solution respects the regulations of the IEC 60825-1 and provides additional safety during the mounting of the laser projectors - even if there is power plugged in it is most unlikely that any radiation is emitted without actively switching the control interface on.
